Seasonal Programs & Soil Restoration

Our seasonal programs go beyond basic maintenance. We bundle soil testing, organic amendments, native plant installation, and ongoing ecological monitoring into packages that build soil health year over year. Spring programs include aeration with compost topdressing ($25 aeration + amendment costs). Fall programs include leaf cleanup, winterization ($125+), and soil prep for spring plantings. Electric mowing at 3–3.5″ — the height that promotes deeper root growth, shades out weed seedlings, and reduces water demand. Starting at $45/visit for lots up to ¼ acre.

Crisp edges along walks, beds, and driveways using battery-powered trimmers. No exhaust, no fumes near your foundation plantings.

Targeted hand-removal of weeds from beds and borders. We identify what’s growing, remove invasives, and leave beneficial volunteers. No herbicides, no exceptions.

Core aeration punches through compacted Denver clay, creating channels for water and oxygen to reach roots. We follow every aeration with compost topdressing to feed soil biology in the new openings. $25/service.

Denver-adapted grass varieties, not generic big-box seed. Proper seed-to-soil contact with organic topdressing.

Mechanical removal when thatch exceeds ½”, followed by compost topdressing.

Patios, walkways, driveways, and fences. Managed runoff to protect adjacent plantings.

3–4” organic mulch. Conserves moisture, suppresses weeds, feeds soil biology as it decomposes.

Invasive vegetation removal and site prep for native replanting.

Sod installation with full soil preparation — we amend your clay base with compost and organic matter before laying sod, so roots establish into living soil instead of hardpan. Residential properties only (per Colorado SB24-005). Starting at $1.50/sq ft.

Full removal from lawns, beds, gutters, and hardscapes. Mulch-mow where beneficial.

Leaf removal, bed cleanup, perennial cutback, final mow. Sets your lawn up for strong spring green-up.

Prevent water damage and foundation erosion — especially important on Denver’s expansive clay.

Starting at $150. Debris removal, perennial cutback, bed prep, and compost application.

Soil Restoration & Remediation

Denver’s heavy clay, high pH, and low organic matter create unique challenges. We address all of them.

Soil Testing — Free with Consultation

Free with every consultation. pH, organic matter, macro and micronutrients, plus our recommendations. Standalone: $50.

Soil Remediation — Starting at $150

Targeted organic amendments based on your soil test. Compost, worm castings, mycorrhizal fungi, biochar — whatever your soil needs.

Ongoing Soil Building

We build soil organic matter over 2–5 years through annual compost, perennial roots, and minimal disturbance. The result: soil that holds more water and feeds plants on its own.

Native Plant Installation — Starting at $500

We design plant communities — not just individual plants. Every installation is matched to your site’s sun, soil, drainage, and bloom sequence.

Xeriscape & Drought-Adapted Design

Native grasses need 8–10 inches of irrigation vs. 24–30 for Kentucky bluegrass. We design for Denver’s 14 inches of rainfall. Many Denver Water customers qualify for xeriscape rebates.

Pollinator Habitat

Targeted plantings for native bees, monarchs, and hummingbirds with continuous bloom from April through October.

Raised Beds — Starting at $300

Premium soil mix designed for Denver conditions. Ideal for vegetables, herbs, or ornamentals where you need full control over soil quality.
